MIKA KALLIO IN SECOND PLACE IN THE 125 CATEGORY
GOOD SHOWING FOR CASEY STONER IN THE MOTOGP CLASS

Padua, 30th October 2006 – The 2006 World Motorcycle Championships ended with an important triumph for CARRERA: the last race of the season, held on Sunday 29th October at the Valencia racecourse in Spain awarded the title of champion of the 250 class to JORGE LORENZO.

JORGE LORENZO, testimonial for CARRERA, toped off his fantastic season confirming his position as the absolute leader of his category and once again taking his CARRERA eyewear to the highest step of the podium.
In the 125 category, the Finnish champion MIKA KALLIO, who is also a CARRERA testimonial, took the second place in the final classification of the category after winning many prestigious races during the season.
In the MotoGP class, the performance of the Australian CASEY STONER of the Honda-LCR team sponsored by CARRERA was excellent: the driver, racing for the first time in the highest category, took the eighth place in the final classification.

Padua, 30th October 2006 - Sunday, 29th October 2006, Valentino Rossi, testimonial for the Imatra by Safilo sunglass collection, concluded the 2006 World Motorcycle Championships taking the second place in the final classification of the MotoGP category. At Valencia in Spain the champion was involved in a fall during the 5th lap of the race and lost his lead, ending at the 13th place.
